Allergy Testing

Allergy testing involves exposing your child’s skin to suspected allergens in a controlled, medical environment and observing for signs of an allergic reaction. This testing is used to diagnose a wide array of allergic conditions, including hay fever, allergic asthma, dermatitis, food allergies, penicillin allergy, bee venom allergy, and latex allergy. Skin tests are generally safe for all adults, children, and infants. The most common side effect of skin testing is slightly swollen, red, itchy bumps that occur as a part of the skin’s response to the exposure of allergens.
